Question: Is there any kind of proof to show that Faberlic oxygen creams truly oxygenate your skin?

The expert’s answer: After using our cosmetics, oxygen levels in the deep epidermis layers is increased by 10-50%. Such a wide variance in the result is because skin absorbs only the necessary amount of oxygen. The worse condition your skin is in, the more oxygen it needs.

These measurements were obtained at the Sechenov First Medical Academy using a special device equipped with Clark electrodes, which allow the partial pressure of oxygen in the skin to be determined.

Question: Is it true that oxygen speeds up oxidation reactions, which the whole world of cosmetology is fighting against?

The expert’s answer: What is a free radical? It is a “defective” molecule with unpaired electrons. To recover, to become complete, it reacts with molecules of the cell membranes and destroys healthy cells by doing so.

We then introduce molecular oxygen into the skin. It is a full molecule which will not engage in such a reaction. Once inside the body, this oxygen is immediately burned in the mitochondria of cells and gives them the energy to maintain all vital processes.

Question: Is it true that artificially introduced oxygen inhibits skin cells’ breathing mechanism? Can accelerated aging be a consequence of applying oxygen cosmetics?

The expert’s answer: Certainly, not. Our studies show that the cell takes as much oxygen as it needs. It is impossible to “overfeed” the cell with oxygen. How the oxygen got there does not matter to the cell. But it does matter to them if they do not get enough oxygen, because the reactions inside the cell freeze and the formation of slag interferes with the normal life of the cell. We see this reflected in the mirror as accelerated aging.

It seems counterintuitive to speak about “inhibition” here. Imagine that you were in conditions where there was very little oxygen, where it was difficult to breathe, even difficult to move or speak… and suddenly you have the chance to breathe in oxygen through a special mask. Would you breathe? Or would you be too afraid that your body would get accustomed to the mask and forget how to breathe on its own? It is impossible to “get used to” breathing.

Question: I recently heard from a client that oxygen cosmetics shouldn’t be used in the winter, as they will supposedly freeze on your skin. Can you help me effectively and simply explain that this is not so?

The expert’s answer: Oxygen does not affect the temperature of skin at all, and does not encourage icing. Quite the opposite – Faberlic cosmetics stimulate circulation, and this in turn improves thermoregulation.

The restrictions for use of our cosmetics during the winter are the same as general skincare guidelines: do not go outside immediately after applying moisturizer; wait about 30 minutes until it is absorbed. Also, before going outside in winter do not use nourishing gels: the absence of a fat phase in light gel compositions does not protect skin against frost.

Most Faberlic products are formulated with plant oils and lipids which protect skin from cold and wind. And of course, not a single cream will freeze on your skin!
